As the year and the decade comes to an end a lost childhood memory creeps us from somewhere. I still remember as the year would end my parents would sit down with a heap of new year cards and send personalized ones to all family members and friends.all of them typically said what the title of this post says :). I have serious doubts that few years down people would even know these existed. With 2010, the decade of digitalization would come to a close. It’s been a decade that belonged to text messages, Facebook and twitter… Wishing people on festivals or occasions such as the dawn of a new year have become so impersonal, forget greeting cards we don’t have enough time to pick up the phone.. a forwarded text message or a message on the wall is all it takes… As i thought of those personalised handwritten greeting cards which got lost somewhere in this digital decade.. it dawned on me we seldom have the time to talk to people living in the same house… taking out time to write cards and post them is a distant possibility .Anyways I’ve swayed from what I was actually here..( typically me !!) To wish all of you a wonderful, joyous and fantastic 2010 !!As we all stand at the helm of bidding adieu to 2009 and gear up to greet 2010 , here is wishing all of you a joyous new year. May this year bring all that you wish for and much more..
“Another fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!
This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!
I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!”– William Arthur Ward
